Phil Spector; Renowned Music Producer, Jailed For Murder Dies At 81

Harvey Phil Spector, regarded as one of the most influential figures in US Pop music history, dies at the age of 81 due to natural causes. According to the department of California Corrections press release, the cause of his death is unknown. He died at 6:35 pm at an unspecified hospital.

The famed musician was serving the death sentence of 19 years in jail. The court convicted him of the murder of actress Lana Clarkson at the time of his death. He had been in prison since 2009. Lana was famous for her works in ‘Barbarian Queen.’ She was also a hostess at a nightclub. Spector took her to his home after a night of drinking in 2003. Lana was later found dead in Spector’s house in Alhambra, a suburb located on Los Angeles’s outskirts. She was fatally shot in the head.
